Permit Apply Category Alignment

Reclassified Permit Apply from Document to Building Permit

Problem

The Permit Apply service was categorised as "Document" instead of "Building Permit." This meant that ordering a Permit Apply did not trigger the Building Permit status workflow - affecting reporting and tracking.

From the Chatlogs

Matt raised the business impact on Feb 6:

"Moving forward, will the Permit Applied division order link to the Building Permit status (ordered / received)? This is affecting reporting and tracking of jobs at the moment." Mark identified the technical issue:

"Permit Apply Division Service/Service is currently assigned to category Document. If we want to link Permit Apply to Building Permit Status, we will need to change the category to Building Permit." - Mark

Fix

Mark reclassified the category and applied it across all levels:

  • Manage Services - Permit Apply category changed to Building Permit
  • Company level - applied to all companies
  • Division/User Group level - applied to all divisions

Testing confirmed on preprod:

"If the Permit Apply Division Service Category is set to Building Permit and the Permit Apply Order is changed to Ordered or Received, the Building Permit Status will automatically be updated." - Mark

Impact

Corrected permit tracking and reporting, enabling the Building Permit status to update automatically through the order workflow.
